Production

Lucy Seale
I have been lucky enough over the years to gain experience across producing and production management, largely through Shakespearean Jeans. In 2019 I had the delightful opportunity of being a production assistant for The Drill, a Green Room Award nominated show by Women's CircusMore recently I have come on board as tech operator for The Titwitchez for a couple of online performances.

In addition I have previously held the production role of Equity and Welfare Officer, which I believe to be an invaluable position within the performing arts industry. I always endeavour to work with people whom I know share my commitment to safe practice and wellbeing within the arts.

While at university I decided to take a lighting breadth subject at the VCA, in an attempt to gain a greater understanding of the use of light in theatre and thus better my directing skills. It ended up being one of the most engaging and useful classes of my degree. During my university days, my heavy involvement with Union House Theatre afforded me a number of opportunities to volunteer in ushering and Front of House across a variety of shows. I am currently continuing my volunteer work, this time with La Mama.

Recently I've been developing my practice as a freelance producer. In 2022 I joined the team of A few things that happened on the way to now which had three successful seasons with Sophie Rose Productions. Aside from producing the show I stepped into the role of Publicity and Marketing Manager. This allowed me to learn hands-on about promoting independent art on social media, while often being able to incorporate my interest in photography.

Across many creative projects I've become well versed in video and music editing software. I've dabbled a little in sound design and composition for a few productions. I have found this very enjoyable as I come from a musical background, having thoroughly excelled in overcommitting to bands and ensembles in high school. These days I continue with saxophone, piano and bass guitar, as well as a bit of composition, for my own amusement.

Because The Night - Banner
Because The Night is undoubtedly the largest theatrical project I've been involved in. In 2021 I came on board at Malthouse, joining the incredible creative team behind this immersive Hamlet adaptation, in the role of Front of House / Usher / Invigilator.

This show was truly like no other; we ushers did not simply welcome people into the theatre, but remained on the floor throughout the performance, communicating with the production team via radios to ensure the smooth running of the show, monitoring actor-audience / props & set interactions across 33 rooms and assisting patrons where necessary.
Though we bounced back after the first two 2021 lockdowns, the third unfortunately meant our 7.5 month run ended 2 months early. However while we were open, we had over 15,000 people visit Elsinore across over 200 performances. It was such a gift to be a part of this landmark production and I learnt so much. The people involved in this show hold a very special place in my heart.
